They’re speaking from reading the entirety of the story not just from the single latest chapter alone. In the latest chapter muyeon changed his mind. Originally he DID want to kill muyeon, that’s what has been happening since season one even to the latest chapter here. That was his plan all along. Using the concoction and the blade to kill baeksa. If he really didn’t want to kill baeksa intitslly he would let baeksa have the body and actually ascende to the heavens. But with him using the concoction and blade, that prevents baeksa from ascending along with the proof from the brown haired guy saying that the blade kills the demi-drake.
Muyeon only changed his mind recently as he’s realizing his feelings. In the latest raws muyeon brought the blade to the boat ride and was hiding it, planning to stab baeksa. When they went into the water he was initially reaching for the blade, not baeksa but THEN he changed his mind and switched up last minute. Op is NOT wrong for saying muyeon intended to kill baeksa. That’s literally what the plot has been for 46+ chapters. The point is muyeon has been planning to kill baeksa for a long time, but changed his mind only now. That’s it.
