Side note: I really can't stand Nora's dad. He has had plenty of opportunities to redeem himself but instead consistently chooses to be a shitty father to his only kid. I'm just glad Nora found a family and ppl who love him.

    I agree with you but the fact that he still has the pressure of grandfather's figure over him and all the "heads" of house norenberg makes it even more difficult to do stuff.

    Yeah grandfather is the source of the problem. But my god this is the problem w heirs. Stick out ur neck and deviate a little fucks sake. Whats all that power for as the heir if u can't wield it to make independent decisions of ur family.

    I agree with you, but if there is a patriarchal system behind the heir, they can destitute the current heir, or at least that's what I think the current heir fears. This is something thats mainly my opinion, not written in the novel, but they tend to be mindful of the grandpa's behind them.

    Truly, a pity, because Nora's father doesn't seem like an idiot, but going against elders wishes is in another level
