Cus he is a dragon they live à lonely life till they fins their human soulmate , dragon are not humans they dint understand communication tricks and misunderstanding they can't read emotions that well , so amon is already filled with flaws it's like he is set to fail and he know it cus most of the dragon that came before him suffered, Manny got killed by their loved one human ,it's like an undirect curse ,
On the other hand we have nain the uke , he is a weak minded human he didn't try to work things out with amon always jump to conclusions and blam amon , he didn't teach amon anything about communication love and stuff like that , from the novel we see that amon can learn new things, he learned how to draw even though he never did before, I felt that he got neglected,
Also this one is on the Author hhhhh they made some plot points just to make the dragon seem more evil
An example for that is when the uke just met the amon and after a while amon when home the temple came and killed the village and stuff so amon realized what happened but it was too late
So he brought the temple men who did bad things to the uke and told him to do what he want with them and punish them.
The uke reaction was of disdain and disgusting like woooow ur so evil that's ridiculous
If someone kill mu mum and dad and family and friends they will get punished .
The last thing is the temple people they took advantage of amon so much and another of things that amon get blamed for he didn't do and didn't order them in fact in the last part of the novel when we saw the poverty of amon , we found that he does nothing most of the time doesn't talk just sit in the sun and sometimes goes out to hunt beside that's all he does when he is alone
Everything else is cooked by the temple

Despite his nature, he always seem to end up being the problem even though he's never directly involved with anything. He tries but doesn't understand what he's trying to do other than to appease his love and help him. The people around him keeps taking advantage of the fact that he doesn't understand human.
The know Nain truly holds the cards but if they can control Nain, they control Amon. No matter what he does, it just comes back to him. He could literally be sitting for 100 years and do absolutely nothing and Nain would burst in saying "AMON HOW COULD YOU?!"

I wana add to this that when we get the pov of amon and his older dragons memories passed down to him some of them lived a happy life with their dragon mate , and the reason is the human
If the human is intelligent and strong in his mind then he will be able to help his dragon and make him learn but nail isn't like that so he didn't teach the top and both of them got taken advantage off
It's so sad cus both of them will remember at the end if I'm not wrong and the uke knows he used tj love the top amon and that he promised his stuff but he moved on , the miserable one is the dragon amon he can't move on since it's his soulmate
So he will always live in the agony of not having his other half sharing the same feelings of love
Yep. That's why I can't really get behind Gwen. Granted, he is an established guy compared to Amon, but Amon didn't really get a chance.
Honestly, I think Nain and Amon living quietly would've been better
The only one I pity the most is the top Here amon , he is so pitiful .
