they really just don’t fuck that often. and there’s multiple allies they’ve gained or are trying to gain like the doctor, the redhead, and that other shady noble guy from a while ago, i don’t remember his name i think he was blonde. the actual problem is that rishar is a dumbass who is not much help at all. he’s the one who always wants to fuck and who keeps getting in the way whether he means to or not. i’m not going to let anyone slander etienne bc he’s doing a damn good job working with that horny idiot. there is no reason to believe he wouldn’t be a great ruler. he’s been watching that evil empress his entire life.

I don't remember any shady noble guy, but I think you may be talking about the empresses pawn who is watching the Omega on behalf of the empress in reporting all of his actions to her. That's not an ally, that's an enemy. He's given good advice to the Omega a few times but that's very different from being his ally. He thinks by helping me Omega he's helping the empress, he would turn on him in a second if he knew.

They have tried nothing. They have done nothing. They have no ideas.

I don't know where the author is going with this because there's no possible way for them to win unless they drop in some sort of McGuffin completely by chance that undoes everything the empress has planned.

I understand you like the characters. You can like the characters and also realize that they're doing a very bad job. Good likable people are not always good rulers.
