I totally understand where your coming from but if it helps I like to think of it like this sorta,,, that the mc LOVED the ml right, like LOVEDDDD obssessed like he did crazy things to try to make him love him to own him etcetc right and then he dies and regrets hurting the ml so much so he wishes him happiness now that he’s finally gone from the mls life but he ends up going back in time!! Obviously he still the same person who once was totally head over heels inlove with the ml so I didn’t really think of it as annoying too much since it made sense to me that he couldn’t be nonchalant in front of the person who still owns his heart, he just now in this life decided to stop tormenting him and forcing his feelings on him, he wouldn’t allow himself to get caught up in his own feelings. Ofc things go awry since even though he said this he wants things to go well this time around so he tries idriectly helping the ml and doing things that he REMEMBERD went bad last time.
