it falls under seinen sub-genre that has queer elements but it's not catagorized as bl cuz we're not introduced to anything that would determine it's a boys love story(till now). a whole nother genre would mean the story should spend a significant amount of time focusing on the elements of said genre but that's not the case for this story yet

Well it’s slice of life which means it portrays things that happen in everyday life, it doesn’t necessarily need to be labeled BL or queer for it to imply the fact that Satomi is going through something real like realizing he feels some type of way towards an older man.
