I can't read the raws, but her tattoo was because he branded her as his.. So i don't know about you but i wouldn't consider guys like that a cutie.. lol Unless you into that stuff, the whole ownership and branding people than i guess i understand your point of view.....
Their isn't much about their backstory btw, but their has to be a reason why she keeps running from him. I doubt she would run because the guy was so "cute"
Yah, Mr Johnson said that she must not get caught again.. Julian's father wanted to kill her because she is Julian's weakness. You can see that (soon to be) Angla still got abused by her teacher, and she didn't have friends in the mansion because as Angla she was ordered to be submissive to Julian and can't go back to her classmates (will be explained in later chapters).
Angla didn't hate Julian personally, though. She knew that he is not a total bad guy because if we put the "branding" aside, Julian treated her well (nice dresses, well fed and provided) and worried about her... unfortunately, not as a person but as posession. Julian wanted Angla to live and stay by his side forever, but can't go against his father directly.
With a past like that, it's impossible that she wanted to go back ^^a.. especially after she is comfortable as her new identity as Shang Ming Lan (not as substitute anymore).
About what Julian did wrong to Ming Lan, Ming Qing will mocked him about it later (including the war declaration XD)..
Well I mean, branding her and dunking her in 10 C (50 F) water for 3 hours is pretty crazy. He probably did worse to her other than that.
It's one of the worst. Because that temperature is dangerous. it's kinda like that he is testing the endurance of his new pet...
