Piece of paper

I can’t help but wonder what was written on that piece of paper. I have a feeling it’ll become a key factor later on—like when the princess finally becomes queen and defeats the king, she might discover that hidden note from her brother. Maybe it says something like, “I’ll do everything to protect you.”

Perhaps he already knew about their father’s darkness and tried to shield her from it, but his plan didn’t unfold the way he hoped. I’d love to see a twist like that—where Martina finds out the truth, realizes her brother’s sacrifice, and breaks down in tears.

Yesss I find it weird how he suddenly started to hate her. I feel like the author is hinting that whatever he's doing is to protect her (maybe he thinks becoming the king will kill her or something?)

Right?? From what we can see, the king is so obsessed with the throne that he even sent his own children as hostages without caring about their well-being. It’s also strange how the siblings’ bond changed—when they used to be each other’s safe place.
