Don't blame the soldier that was influenced to kill. Blame the higher ups that instigated the war.
I reckon the other Ediths understood this well; they understood that the main characters were controlled by the author/story.
As for Cliff, I dont think the Ediths truly hated him. I'd say they just let him follow through with his obsession for the author, and let him see the author's true colours/nature.

Didn't Killian kill all 13 Ediths in the previous timelines?
Shouldn't these women be also mad at him, and not just Cliff?
