No, it's not that he is aware that he is a fictional character, it's that the author of this story left hints all over for us readers, that the real identity of this character is that he's the same as an already existing character in another famous horror writer's much more famous work (in real life) : specifically, it's an already existing character borrowed from the horror stories af a famous real life horror writer, Howard Philips Lovecraft, meaning that it's an already existing character which the author of THIS story borrowed and planted into their own story (which is THIS webtoon).
