I think it depends on the conch's shape and size iirc
The ones that make the nice sound of ocean waves are huge
（￣へ￣）all i got from a seashell was the snail coming out from it scaring the fuck out of me and me throwing it back to the sea and wishing the snail happiness afterwards.
It depends on the shell and how you hold it. You also don't hear the ocean in a seashell. You hear the amplified sound of the ambient noise around you. I can get the same sound just by positioning my hand a certain way around my ear.
Sometimes when it's damaged it doesn't work. It's true tho
That conch shell thing is a lie..... never heard the sound of the ocean from it..... I was so disappointed a a child TT
