disliking one thing abt a story isn’t gonna deter people away from reading it bro and every single time i see people complaining abt others putting their opposite opinion on a problematic story its always “why do you keep reading” how do you know someone is continuously reading after that? genuinely doesn’t make sense you’re putting more time and thought into assuming people are picking bad stories just to shit on them and continue reading them. and also TONS of people lie about story’s on tiktok i’ve literally been tricked into reading incest, so people will leave comments warning people
As someone who does read even if I hate the ml. It's the investment of time. There was some kind of theory behind it but I forgot what its called. Anyway, in the end, we all have different preferences so why tf should it matter? Lmao. Also, just think of it like this— although it's fiction, you think of the mc as a friend. Would you want your friend to go through this? Although even if you do say the "pay off" is great in the end, was he really worth all that? She deserves so much better than that. I also don't really see how ml deserves to be with her after what he put her through.
You can also read dramas with conflicts and angst with an ml who's NOT a red flag???? I don't really see how that's supposed to be point lmao. This is not just about the manhwa being "wholesome" and "easy", it's that the ml was problematic in our pov. But I guess you wouldn't get that because you think differently from us, which I don't understand as well but okay ig?
Tbh I said everything in the comment already so
I said in the comment myself that I also read stuff that I hate, and I'm aware that I do it out of guilty pleasure, but I just don't comment BC I know other ppl enjoy it and ALSO you said in your comment yourself that everyone has different preferences so why are you contracting yourself immediately by saying that there can me drama without conflict. Yes I'm aware, I said it in my own very comment, it's great that there's diversity on stories, because that's my point, not every story can have the same plot right?
Also I never said he's not a red flag, when have I said that, I know he's a read flag, like huh? But so there's a gap for character development and growth, I don't get why everyone is so pissed and get so offensive over that question, yes of course I understand why wouldn't I? Just because I have a different opinion doesn't mean I don't get it.
I mean just because I like lemons because they're sour, and I like them, doesn't mean I don't get it.
Tbh, I didn't have any sleep so I probably misunderstood the red flag part. And tbf "having drama without conflict" does sound contradicting at first glance, but my point was: there can be drama without toxicity. I answered the question you were so curious about, that was the point wasn't it?
But what was the point of asking these questions anyway?? For what purpose? I don't understand 'cause you act like you're asking questions, but you already have your own opinion that you're set on... Like, you ask but then you proceed to say things that SUGGEST that you're invalidating our views (you didn't say it, but it was heavily insinuated); and justifying the aspects of the story that we don't like (which is our opinion that you say you get). Do you truly get that we have different opinions? Then why are you saying things that seem like you don't? That's our opinion, and yes, I get that you have your own. But you literally said "they don't like the MC BC they don't like these kind of characters but then.. why are you reading this genre?" Lmao. It's honestly so hypocritical of you to say that when you say that you read stuff that you hate.

Disclaimer: this is a genuine question, I'm just frfr curious about others options
Like genuine question to everyone who dislikes the ML, the story line and still kept reading, why?
I also do this, don't get me wrong, but I am aware of it and I know it's my personal guilty pleasure since I usually am still intrigued by the story, but some people genuinely hate how this is going so why bother?
Second question, why do you dislike these kind of stories yet keep reading them? + if you dislike it, are you aware that it's personal taste and not because the story has to be necessarily bad? (You are entitled to dislike things)
Lots of ppl call it bad but personally I don't see why the story is bad, the characters action make sense, the plot is interesting, you can get emotionally invested, there's no weird pothole or ridiculous action. And by reading the comments it looks like ppl are calling the story bad because the ML is a red flag or they don't like the MC BC they don't like these kind of characters but then.. why are you reading this genre?
Personally I like these kind of stories because I like conflict, I like angst, revenge (everything that does not happen if the characters are flawless from the start) I want all these messy feelings and character development, and as long as the story doesn't get problematic (for example ML doing ) I even welcome red flags, so there is stuff at stake you get me? There would be no plot without it. That's the story.
If I wanted a wholesome immediately 'everything is cute and fluffy, green flag yay' then I would have read something different, not every story can be wholesome and easy. Yes he is an asshole but the pay off will be great, there's chance for character development even for FL, so I do not wish for her to get with the second ML.
PS: obviously my opinion will change if the MC is doing completely dumb things for example IF the ML would cheat on her and she would forgive him or smth like that, for example Operation True love was also great in the beginning but got really dumb imo. BC the development just got bombed and trashed. All the investment for nothing.
