Wait- this plot is so similar to "My husband hides his beauty"! The emperor there did this too.. stealing the body of his descendants. I actually wrote my comment thinking of that emperor but to think they're did the same thing.

Pretty sure he ranks high in society from his clothing style. From my experience, it's most likely the royal family. I don't remember anything about the royal family throughout my reading of this manhwa so...yeah. his golden eyes are making my suspicion stronger.
