And with this business having the queen on edge over Ricardo she can put that plan in motion without her noticing.
Also the queen isn’t all powerful, she can’t just snap her fingers against her family and they’re all dead.
They NEED her so her son can ascend the throne because she’s from an influential family. It’s why the red head got dropped immediately in favor of her. She’s not as helpless as it appears to be since they had to blackmail her to get her to marry.
But if you take her mother outta the equation (by hiding her or keeping her in the estate) then there’s not much the queen can do to keep her hostage.
Also she knows Ricardo and how little emotions he had in childhood, so I dunno why she’s not seeing that when she also read the story. He went from no emotions, to slowly opening up, to having his emotions hardened out again when he left away from her.
From what I understand mc thought since she knew the future, tye one from the novel, of Ricardo returning an defeating them all, she is placing her bets on that fate is set in stone.
So if she tells her family they'd fight the empress, and Ricardo could be in danger, or she herelsef could die.
Tbh it doesn't make sense. At least after 3~4 years at least she should've told them before the wedding, her family now knowing Ricardo is no longer vulnerable could cancel her wedding or at least delay more. But even that they made mc afraid to tell them and have the royal family pressure them even more. Doesn't make sense how stupid that is. But I do understand, she barely made up with them and still feel like a burden or afraid to be hated, I'd hoped they not gloss that over and someone scold her for not relying on her fucking influence in the Ducal family.

I totally understand. I hate how she didn’t seek help form her family and others. Also why automatically assume that they are now allies or in this together. lol I don’t think ppl want to admit it but she’s acting like all is hopeless.
What tf does she MEAN we’re in this together and now you’re allies? You chose to stick with them for Ricardo so he just gets sent away without the stigma of killing his brother, that’s OVER now that he’s back???
So why can’t you pull away and tell your fucking family that you need to support Ricardo for the throne instead of the queen now, even if he’s pissy.
