People who don't know how to swim often just panic while in the water. There is no just "kick and stuff" for them. They flail and drown. Not everyone, mind you. Swimming isn't some inherent trait that all humans possess. In any case, panic makes people do stupid things or just clam up entirely. Panic is -- in fact -- one of the major factors in drowning. So poor old Kim Dan was panicked and started flailing. I mean, you can say it is cringe, I don't care, but teaching someone to swim is indeed a vital life lesson. Especially for someone living near a pool or by bodies of water.

I learnt to swim so young I don't even remember it, but the story is that my granddaddy just threw us grandkids off the boat and into the river and said, "Swim." So I guess I did ok, being that I'm still alive forty something years later. I think they said I was four or five. It was a relatively placid part of the river, though.
Did you eventually learn to swim?
Am I the only one that thinks the swimming thing is a bit cringe? Even if you dk how to swim you know how to kick and stuff ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
