bc he's considered a monster just bc he has black skin... he looks completely normal, not monster like at all
I can totally get where you're coming from, though a human having like /charcoal/ black skin isn't normal at all, so I can see it being offputting to people like MC's mother, I suppose? I absolutely do agree that the author could have made him look more 'messed up' from the curse, it was one of the bigger issues I took with the story for sure. It felt like they were scared to make his design stray too far from human so they went with the simplest option they could think of... which in turn lead to some not-so-great implications :( Gen think it was out of fears of the character not being 'pretty' enough if he were to have actual monstrous features. That fact was proven even more when he turned into a pretty blond, I was just like .... oh boy ... smh.
Honestly if the racist undertones didn’t make me feel like shit, this would become one of my favourites. (︶︿︶)＝凸
