When is the problem be resolved? Is he returning to his og body or the kid’s body?

He let go of his own body... he was put back when the chef was on the other body. On novel they also states that he's been like a dead person(?) He was moving... but the soul is kind of not doing good. So he just decided to let go of his own body since in the first place he knows that it's not really his place anymore...
