Just consider s2 as the main story and the rest as what could have happen if. S1 was dreadfully sad but deep though, but in my mind S2 is the masterpiece, the other lives were just rough drafts.

I kind of wish the first season didn't happen, that was brutal (I know, I know it's part of the story..). How am I supposed to deal with lovey dovey now Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
