I want to know if he was abusive towards og ruby or not and if he started abuse bc he realized its not ruby, if he started bc she forgot the promise or he found out when ruby was crying on him as some kind of sick satisfaction

I don't think he realized it's not ruby. I get how these chapters are showing us his side but at the end of the day he is an unreliable narrator for me. I can't see how him physically abusing her after this incident makes any difference but ig that's me and of course other people have their own thoughts. Also for me, he was abusive to her before too, maybe not physically but he still chose the supposed father's way. He manipulated her according to his needs, I don't think he ever cared about what she wanted, he didn't want her engagement because he liked her, he agreed to the engagement 'cause he got beat up. I have to agree with that. I didn't really think of it that way so thank you for making my view point bigger but I always had a sick interest in everyone's view point so even if I hate him, I still wish to know more about the character and what this story those pretty greatly is give us a hoos story and they don't make big bad villain just a big bad villain and I like that. Oh and im not sure if the way that i worked my og comment or other two but im not blaming anything on og ruby or ruby. They are victims in this story that just wanted to be loved and seen. He was a victim as a child but he grew up to be just like his adopted father and that is tragic in my opinion but im happy ruby broke the curse
