That's how the assumption would naturally lead to, for sure, but it wasn't mentioned in that context. The way the sentence was constructed didn't elude to her previous words, in fact it felt much like it ignored it entirely and an entirely new story was starting. Perhaps, it's bad Translations?

Is it just me or is the plot all over the place? She first claimed to be in love, then 2 chapters later she says she's reincarnated and saw him as a child. And what's the thing with her mother being 14 years old when FL was 4? that would mean her mother got pregnant at 9. I hope that was a typo, hahaha. It was probably a typo... Right?
