I agree. The countess had to know what illness took MC's mother, so if it was the same one her husband had she would have remembered and told MC. But since she didn't, the symptoms had to be different, so it's a different poison and th story could be believable. If it's is actually the same, I swear this story is just stupid.
Did FL seriously not connect the illness to that blonde cunt's presence? She literally could have told his wife about the possibility of poisoning. Maybe she could have saved him.
