No one is saying you're not allowed to read toxic stories, but the readers of toxic stories are always so fragile and defensive about it because it comes from a place of knowing what they're reading is wrong but hating being wrong. I joined MangaGo at 11 or 12 when comments were on pause, and I indulged in stories with stalkers and groomers with no one in the comments to say that it was weird behavior, and since I was having some troubles with my loved ones and wasn't receiving the love and attention a kid needs properly, I did actually believe being stalker and groomed was the only way to be loved, solely because in the stories I was consuming en mass, the victim always ends up happier after coming to terms with the stalker, and in most cases the victim is never even distressed by the lack of privacy. Fiction and reality only matters if you think properly about what youre consuming, but most manhwas lay out everything for you to read so theres no need to analyse anything on a deeper level, apply yourself to the scenario or guess what they're thinking, and that is subliminal messaging in a way. Guess who ended up nearly falling victim to groomers due to all of this? Me!
