I think even babies have the type of fear the dude was talking about-- the sort of instinctive, innate fear that can be triggered automatically. I'm too lazy to fact check this, but from what I've heard, babies are considered a lump of instincts, like what humans would be if they didn't have all the additional stuff that makes then distinct from others animals(like complex language, society, etc.)
Tho you might be on to something by saying she's dumb because how's it gonna take her so many hours to process what the dude said earlier that day
He gives so many hints that he's a walking red flag
- When they hug and he says she doesn't know how much he's holding back?
- Trying to get her to think she'd do the deed at work and then musing that 'dang, it won't work with you, eh?"
- most scenes with the assistant/aid
- their "first " time together where he says it's his first time
She's being willfully ignorant or he's messing with her mind on the daily. From spoilers about the story and what little I've read of the novel, it seems this is definitely changing things
Unfortunately for our heroine, he's pulling a "don't worry darling" And seeing as no one remembers, she literally has no where to go.
His basically a god. What can she do?
Facts. Best she can do is open her mind and protect her sanity. Definitely have nowhere to go. I think if she runs, he'll think it's cute. So there's that. ┗( T﹏T )┛
But what if she is just really dumb. Babies also don't know fear.
