What plot lines were skipped? I'm curious
There’s actually a whole plotline at the job she worked at for her mom, during summer break.
The boss lady there thought the mc was a dropout and stupid because she was beautiful and working at a place like that. She had a son who took an interest in the mc cause she was pretty, and they both believed she was lying when she said she goes to a good school.
They constantly thought badly of her or badmouthed her. The son was always saying shit like “she’s lucky I, an educated person, has taken an interest in her. Yet, she still lies.”(Hella annoying.)
They still think this even after the son bungles an interaction with a foreigner, and the mc has to step in and speak in fluent English to help the situation. Like, how are they still thinking she’s stupid???
In the end, when the mc quits the job like they had planned from the beginning, the boss lady wasn’t willing to let her go and offered to raise her pay, but the mc was like “I have school.” The boss lady thought she was lying to get her to raise her salary even more, so she gets mad and lets the mc go.
However, as time passes, the restaurant started to lose business because the mc left. The boss lady thought she was the reason that the restaurant was becoming more popular(something about a changed recipe), so when she realizes that it’s actually because of the mc, she immediately calls the mc back to tell her she’ll raise her salary even more.
The mc is just like, “um, I said I had school??” And the boss lady refused to think that she actually went to school, thinking she was stupid and a dropout. She thought the mc was still trying to get a larger salary and got so angry that she dropped the subject. She said something like the mc will crawl back to this job anyway, since she’s a dropout who can’t get a good job.
Anyway, a bunch of chapters pass and the mc legit passes by the son in her school uniform. Despite the fact that this whole time she said she was a student and is literally wearing their uniform, the son is like “nah. She’s pretty so how can she be smart and go to a better school than me? She must’ve bought the uniform to make herself feel better. Too bad she lies so much despite being beautiful.”
Like, this mother son pair is just too stupid and delusional istg. That’s as much as I’ve read about that plotline so far though lol. Theres some others but this was the one that I was shocked by when I was reading the novel, since the manhua didn’t mention it at all lol
Also, pingting’s biological parents actually turns out to be that nosy and misogynistic woman that talked to ye shu during the college entrance exams. The one that gave up her daughters so she could raise her son. Like, the novel went in to a ton more detail about stuff like that, which the manhua just kinda glossed over lol

Honestly... ch novels can be a bit overdramatic... but they are also super interesting... and it's a friggin shame that not once I've seen the comic adaptation make justice to them. The comic that comes closer to me is cmmd... but I don't think that's adapted from any specific novel, just a specific genre of ch novel...
Yeahhh honestly when I was reading the novel, I was so shocked that they just skipped the whole arc with the feng family. Like, they got rid of them so easily in the manga but it took a super long time and even multiple jail sentences before they got taken care of by the mc. Also it made sense why the punishment for the grandma was really bad, because she was such a blind bitch in the novel. Also, there was no hypnosis skill with the system and feng xianxian never got the system in the novel. Mu yourong also never died, she just remained in jail. Also, the mc’s 4th uncle that was abused by his wife actually ended up with lizhi’s mom, so lizhi becomes cousins with zhuozhuo. Like, they just completely skipped that in the manhua and I was flabbergasted when it happened in the novel as I was reading lol.
I just started to read the original novel and the fact that there’s multiple plot lines that were just skipped have me laughing so much, cause I was so surprised when I was reading the novel, cause I didn’t remember it at all lol
