I think the author is just being realistic and frank. Engaging in physical and emotional relantionship doesn't mean you end up happily ever after with that person. Feelings of love can change overtime especially if it becomes stale. Leaving guy1 for guy2, doesn't make guy2 endgame. Not every broken relationship ends up it a neat cut/separation or friendships. Plus in general depending on the person some may prefer not being friends with their exes. I for once wouldn't want to befriend my exes again even tho we ended in good terms and still exchange hello when he see each other by chance. But this is just me.

I think it’s refreshing though? So many bl has it that when Uke separates from seme for whatever reason, it’s like they’re written to be celibate and not ALLOWED to move on, which is really unrealistic. It’s actually nice to see thet Uke is trying to start again, and having the ability to stay friends with someone despite not being able to work it out romantically.
So what was the point of making Kiwung fall in love with and sleep with Jihun? I mean if this was going to be the outcome then shouldn’t making him a reliable friend enough?
