Iirc it really wasn't specified if garon killed his mother. But she was killed because of him regardless
In the novel I read Garon and the MC were talking and Garon started speaking about the house the MC grew up in recalling it from when he did infact kill his mom. It was at that moment that both of them knew for sure it was him. Honestly I think that part of the novel is this exact moment so they missed a lot of details
Specifically i remember the MC was talking about his house being separated from the village and what it looked like around it ( the scenery) and Garon started asking if it had artwork all along the walls and what the artwork looked like. The MC was exited for .2 seconds until they both realized why he knew what the inside of the house looked like
