It's because she never went through what he went through, she was pretty, and she wanted to fit in, so she could never understand what he was going through, and he could never communicate it well, sometimes you want to say something so much but when you do it feels like you're drowning... I kind of think that's how he felt, and she just kept her thoughts to herself, she wasn't direct enough, if she had just pressed him a bit about why he was getting furthwr away from her.... And they were kids so she didn't even understand that she liked him which actually sad, because she didn't even had good enough friends that would help her understand what she was feeling too... But I do kind of blame her for not worrying that he had no friends besides her... In this regard she's kind of dumb I guess, it probably never came to her mind to think about that...
dont get me wrong i am in love with this story but shes a little bit too ignorant
