oh, i could totally relate to this xD well, i kinda disliked Akira when he became more and more wavered by the society as their relationship turned more sour with the passing times. And it got sadder when Yuuki was willing to wait even until they became old, as long as they'd one day have a vacation together. This is because Yuuki knew how Akira was, since Akira was such a realist.
But damn, I totally lost it once Akira gave up on their relationship, telling Yuuki that there was no future in it.
However, at the end, as a person who loves Akira, Yuuki knew him best and forgave him at the end. It's true that what Akira did was wrong, but nobody's perfect and only the person who truly knows and loves you will truly embrace your imperfection. Yuuki is the example of that kind of person.
This story has taught me the value of love I'm so happy that someone has drawn this kind of story ;;;; w;;;

I know right?! Akira didn't even try to talk things out with Yuuki and just decided what he should do by himself. He was the first who fall in love and he was also the first who ended their love.
If I should say, Akira was really lucky that the one who fall in love with him was Yuuki. He can't even forget about Akira because his love to him was too deep so he remains single in all those time. Maybe Yuuki's love for Akira was bigger despite the hatred so in the end he could forgive everything.
Yaoi manga rarely have such the pureness of love (or is it just me who always read the twisted one so I can't barely feel the love). But most of them began with rape or either too rushed... But some of them are gold tho.

I'll be forever salty with Akira, but Yuuki's such an angel and that might be one of the reasons why this manga is loved overall! (aside from Akira's imperfections, which i have a love-hate r/ship with it lol)
if you're looking for pure manga, then shounen ais usually have all those stuff! Cuz cmon we've gotta face it, yaoi could hardly ever be pure because many of them start with dub-cons. But there are many kinds of "pure" relationship, so i'm not sure which one you mean.. is it the fluffy kind of pure, or "pure" as in the relationship contains a lot of depth in it? :O

For me, that last part of chapter 5 it's not Yuuki's last dream, but when they meet again in their afterlife. I can't think about a better ending for a love story than spending eternity with that special person. I don't know why people say the manga has a sad endind, it was beautiful.
What's hurts me the most is when Yuuki invited Akira to go out but he always rejected him, their relationship turned cold, and finally Yuuki said "Someday, let's go to Alaska" and Akira replied with "There's no future between us, so let's break up". MANNN MY HEART I was really have the urge to punch Akira.
So when they were going to their separate ways, Akira just realized how much he loves Yuuki. So he began to chase Yuuki. I kind of don't like it when they met in Alaska and then Yuuki accepted Akira just like that. I mean, I know they both are suffering but Yuuki was the one who suffer the most you know? Because everything's ended one sidedly. Akira didn't even bother to listen to Yuuki's feeling back then.
In the end, they got back together, and spend the rest of their lives happily. I'm happy that Akira not running away anymore, he's been trying to make up for the lost years. And I was crying my eyes out when Akira died and once again, he left Yuuki alone. I was burst in tears when they met again in Yuuki's last dream. It was so damn sad.
So I have a mixed feeling about this manga and it really is a bittersweet ending. I wish you both happiness in your afterlife. Amen.
And one more thing, society is indeed cruel to people who they think are 'different' from them but if we listen what society says, there'll no end. If you truly love each other, even when society against it, then let them be. Because if you have each other, you'll surely find a way to happiness.
This was so freaking long lol I feel relieved when I let out my feelings here.
