It is a bit more rushed than the novel, but Chase falls fast and hard anyway ajhsja
(It's kind of subtle the interest he shows at the beginning but it's cemented once Josh saves his life and protects him from the coyotes (i think is what they were?) xd
In the novel it was more fleshed out. He started falling in love with him after the attack of the coyotes
Ooh yes I actually read the novel but only half part but also the way Josh tells chase he has a son with him and chase's non chalant reaction was kind of off putting haha just my opinion
