guys all the kissing that's been going on isn't supposed to be romantic, and neither is the author trying to romanticise it (as can be seen by how awkwardly they write those scenes, with little to no communication or explanation. the main tone of every one of those scenes is discomfort). taehyun is a traumatized young boy who's been through SA, so his feelings and actions are all messed up. in his attempt to "protect" hyunbeom by getting him to exit taehyun's doomed life, he does the one thing he knows makes people uncomfortable; sexual intimacy, because it once made him uncomfortable. he just wants to disgust and offend hyunbeom so much to the point where he leaves on his own terms because hyunbeom is a responsibility ridden idiot too. DOES THAT MEAN THAT ANY OF IT IS JUSTIFIED? no. it can be explained, but not justified. trauma gives you context for someone's actions but it never excuses it. what taehyun is doing is still taking advantage of it, but all i'm trying to say is people also look at it a bit from his pov and sympathise with him. i do hope he gets a fulfilling redemption arc.
