Even if someone considers it 'cringe', if Jigu is saying it it's pretty in character for him because he has used "cringe gamer language" irl before.
Like he said about having a buff to intelligence when he was with college friends and they said it was cringey how he talks. And then he got insecure about how he naturally speaks. (Which is way more "cringey" than saying "gaming" imo)
If anything it would show that he doesn't feel the need to hide that sort of gamer cringe from Yeowoon. He's a cringe gamer boy and that's part of what makes him endearing

To be more specific, if something caused by a friend or partner while I was playing, I’d probably say “I’m gaming”, like “hey don’t bother me I’m gaming”
If it’s my mother or smth, I’m most probably going to say playing or any other non-cringe like that has now become an inherent part of my personality, willingly or not-
