Exactly. Given the state of things between them, just knowing someone liked Yana wouldn't be enough to have him give up. He just knew time was ticking by, and found this to be an opportunity to "cleanly" split up
Oh brother he thinks the rumors are true and that she likes Miguel so he lost on purpose so she can marry the guy he thinks she likes. That bodyguard need to open his eyes and see that yana likes him... sigh
