i thought the same thing!!! its always so weird seeing a grown ass woman comment on how well a child is growing, even if their body is also a child. like ur mentally an adult, u should know that’s weird. thats one thing that i’ve always disliked abt the reincarnation trope, just dont do that (T w T). even the ogs like “i will be the matriarch in this life” does it, it’s so strange.

my writer-brain makes me think that the reincarnation trope, as a whole, is very much a crutch for most writers. if u think about it, giving the mc the story beforehand to unfold around them makes everything move easier than if they had nothing. if they meet someone that was in a story, they can fill the audience in by saying “oh this is this person, they did this and i need them for this.” i think things become MUCH more interesting when they DONT have that crutch and honestly, it would make the mc seem so much more smarter if they didnt know things beforehand and just straight up used their own intellect they were BORN with to complete their plans or something. i think a lot of writers use the trope very well, for instance, the secret lady uses it to explain her powers and her wisdom that she got from her past life. but so many writers get it wrong and thats when it becomes weird. u need the child when they are older, so u become their friend as children. when they start falling for u, as a CHILD while u are mentally not one, that shouldnt be a normal part of the story. this is also why i bring up secret lady, bc they do have that trope, but in no way is there anything to do with that scene in every other romance reincarnation manwha that says the shit like “oh he grew up so well, i cant fall for him now bc i raised him”.
long tangent, but this is something i’ve thought for years now.
It's soooo weird when a grown ass woman reincarnates as a child. Meets the ml as a child and then falls in love with him???
