Bl is generic term yeah it means boys love but its a generic genre term to label anything remotely gay. It does stem from a heteronormative way of thinking and its rooted in a strong line to distinguish between straight and anything queer aka the "others." But where is the love exactly? Technically this is NOT a BL. Shounen ai is BL, but this is only tagged as yaoi, the two terms are not synonymous but usually found together so they get conflated. Also, getting together doesn't necessarily mean the author condones it (although I do wonder what the author was trying to do with this story cuz there is so much graphic rape). If they do "get together" in this case, it's more to show the extent of the psychological manipulation and torture inflicted on uke and the twisted mindset of seme. Do you have any sort of link to a tweet or something from the og author saying that this is meant to be a romance? That is the only thing that would inexplicably prove ur argument.

I dont understand why people are still complaining. This isnt a love story. Its clearly intended to be twisted and cause a gut wrenching feeling to the reader. What were you expecting? I had to take pauses reading what was about to come later by how nausating it is. Second, if you read the novel you would no that juyeon by the end of the day took his revenge WAY too far as he acknowledges it himself.
