It was definitely said in the novel! He did it to bait Jia cause, in the end, Jia is still his fan who’s curious about him :)

he actually acknowledged it as his first love??! was that explicitly mentioned in the novel because i dont rmb ever it ever being mentioned. i thought it was all just implied. like he was her TOTGA because he didnt or couldnt confess or he didnt even realize he was in love back then.
it isnt a big deal but im just bummed out that i missed it in the novel. i dont rmb skipping a chapter from the novel this early on ...
