We found out the older brother was pushed so hard he got constant nosebleeds.
We also found out he has been doing his best to preserve his brother's childhood while he accepted his fate as the object of his parents thorough machinations.
The reason he spoke harshly wasn't because he had no faith in his younger brother, but because he knew they were planning to rip away that boy's happy place and start pressuring him.
His parents don't understand normal reasoning, that is clear as day. He uses language they can understand.
He clearly has his own issues after being raised like that but nothing he does is malicious. He's excessively overprotective, though. That kind of happens sometimes when you end up raising a sibling.
