The rape was necessary for the plot.
As a little boy, our ml was locked up and nearly killed by being starved and deprived of water after being beaten, until he would apologize for a kiss with the ml. He wasn’t willing to deny that kiss. It wasn’t wrong. His feelings for the mc were real. Our mc tells him to run away. Our ml leaves while holding dearly to the mc’s feelings for him.
Our ml is then abducted by a pedophile assassin, who forces him into a life of physical pain, sexual abuse, and killing off any unnecessary morals in order to survive. This CHILD spends his whole life suffering like this, only holding on to life because there is someone he’s living for, someone he wants to see again someday, someone he still loves- our mc.
Only to one day realize from newspapers and gossip that the person who was his guiding light and reason for enduring, had long moved on to become a promiscuous little slut without shame or morals. Our ml had been subjected to sex as a cruelty but meanwhile our mc was sleeping around for fun. Our ml was living in hell while our mc was out partying, getting drunk, and being spoiled.
For our ml it must have felt as though everything he had suffered had happened because he had loved the mc- who didn’t even wait for him, but moved on to a life of debauchery. Our ml broke mentally after a lifetime of abuse and realizing that the one he’d both suffered because of, and endured the suffering to see again, was no longer a person that existed outside of his memories. He’d lost even that.
So when the order to kill the mc and his family came in (he’s an assassin) he begged for the chance to receive the mc as payment- thus sparing the mc’s life and giving our ml a way to act out all the hate, anger, bitterness, love, and regret that had festered inside him over a lifetime.
In the real world, any child exposed to long term abuse, forced child militarization (forced to become an assassin), continuously being raped, emotionally broken, feelings of betrayal/resentment on top of that could easily cause mental illness and/or irrational desires for revenge, obsession, or to perpetuate their own abuse onto others. The author didn’t stray far from reality here.
I knew he was implying that he had to endure sex too. Poor guy, doesn’t excuse the first chapter or how fucked his brain is but it’s quite sad since the MC let him go to protect him and it ended up backfiring big time for him. Any clue how many chapters till completion?
The unnecessary rape (never necessary btw) that doesn’t really make sense, his anger towards the prince, doesn’t make sense. Lowk this is garbage. Hope our duke heir gets his revenge in a seductive cunty kinda way and kills the ML off. Anyway I’ll probably come back to this never.
