the pacing is just very well done and the characters are realistic and portrayed in a way that demonstrates their deph. its just really good writing imo! a core of any story is how well you tell a character and their story to the reader
Well said. When I come across manhwas like this, I almost take sick day because damn I can't stop reading. It's not that I don’t love light, comical ones, but these just hit different

Honestly I would suggest to look for bl manhwas based on novels, if you dont want to read the actual novels (if you get into that world you're done)! Usually you can tell if its based on one because there's an actual plot line and character development haha personally my favorite korean novel turned into webtoon is Turning! It's very action and magic centered though, as well as a omegaverse and a guideverse but it's very well written and the world building is insane.
what am I saying its not a guideverse! i meant more like power awakening kind of like espers + time travel/second life. It is quite angsty too
