I literally said that Rapiel was the real innocent victim.
I said multiple times that Kloff is insane, I hate him with all my heart but i can't even bring myself to say that Aeroc is innocent, he is a victim of Kloff but a murdered himself, even if he went ona redemption arc.

no youre mixing this up, kloff became the villain later on but this all happend because of AEROC he was was unable to let kloff go, hes clearly an unreliable narrator as when perspectives switch between him and kloff you can see he isnt trying to kindly reach out to kloff hes belittling him and he tries to humilate even raphiel when looking at raphiels injuries, he only gets scammed of the money AFTER the death we know this because in the 2nd timeline hes already set to ruin clearly with our without kloffs help because he doesnt know how to work money. aeroc is a noble- his ignorance is clear when he pays people to punish a pregnant omega and then is shook when he gets raped then he states 'its not my fault i didnt know'' like it doesnt work like that raphiel knew nothing and did nothing wrong but suffered and aeroc doesnt even try to make amends right in any form even when he realises kloff knows its him who killed raphiel, plus we even know aeroc had a second change to save raphiel when he sees the scene beginning through his carriage. kloff takes it to far by his repeated disgusting punishments and hence the idea of him being in purgatory, he carries sin on his hands too but its insane to say 'oh yeah your omega got raped when pregnant all because you didnt want to get with a guy you thought was looking down on you the whole time' . theyre both evil but kloff just desends into monster
like i really believe kloff by the end was genuinely devil reincarnate because of his intentional actions genuinely another level of depraved he deserved hell , and i truly cried for aeroc because his ignorance in the whole matter doomed him and he went through so much in the name of him repenting but we know this because we get to see aerocs pain and his thoughts while kloff sees a man who doesnt cry no matter what , it just feels wrong to try and say its kloffs fault it all started
Both of them couldn’t let go. You already pointed out why Aeroc is wrong. So I’ll proceed with why Kloff is also wrong. He didn’t have to keep attending those events… worst of all he didn’t need to drag Rapiel with him. You know this Count likes you… if you truly love or at least care about your wife.. you’d take yourselves out of that mess. And honestly Kloff started the humiliation by rejecting Aeroc the worst possible way… you can turn down someone, but to call them swine? He enjoyed it.. he enjoyed getting into Aeroc’s skin. He hated how Aeroc never had a lot of emotions.
What irks me about Kloff is after Vol 1-2 you get this tiny pieces of why things happen. He describes his future marriage with Rapiel as peaceful.. to the point of being dull. So… it clicks. He made his marriage into this game to piss Aeroc… (the fact he keeps dragging Rapiel everywhere to kiss him.. to show him off.. that was just evil.)
Im not excusing what Aeroc did… but imagine being inside a pressure cooker that’s basically what Kloff did. He made Aeroc feel inferior because he couldn’t be loved. Aeroc ultimately exploded and I hate it… and Rapiel had to pay for that.. and Aeroc committed the one wrong thing is his life… when it was Kloff who instigated things.
Why couldn’t Kloff just be happy with Rapiel!? Why did he want his cake and eat it too?

He really is which is why vol 5 is really an eye opener for kloff… he realized it was really his inferiority complex and doing why Aeroc became a devil. He was projecting a lot of things to Aeroc…

What Aaroc did was absolutely wrong yes, but its something he did in a moment of weakness and lapse of judgment, influenced by emotions that Kloff purposely caused!! Aeroc didn't mean for Rapiel to die.. he himself was also mortified by what happened. Everything Kloff did was INTENTIONAL! for his own ego and out of spite! that's the fcking difference! Kloff caused everything!!!!! and then he had the audacity to play victim. locked Aeroc up, starved and raped him for years, impregnated him and treated him like a cum rag.. treated him worse than you would an animal.. FOR YEARS!!
Happy to help. Reading the novel a few times really opens your eyes about Kloff’s part in this hell which people don’t see immediately… it’s understandable because Aeroc did kill Rapiel so he is the more despicable person in a lot of people’s eyes. He does demonized himself throughout the novel painting Kloff as the unfortunate husband.
Like you said… Aeroc is an unreliable narrator, he seems to be humiliating Kloff on purpose in book 1. But reading book 5 Aeroc isn’t really a terrible person, he retaliates to humiliation but he tries not to go overboard.
Kloff kept pushing him on the edge of this book 5… but a lot of his comebacks were childish and sounds like provocation.. but Aeroc just doesn’t know how to handle his emotions and outbursts really well. When Kloff made him feel small again, his answer was to just get it over and have sex in a brothel (he doesn’t think.. because he keeps everything bottled inside. He realizes it’s stupid.) you see them both in their no-memories counterpart.. and honestly Aeroc’s V5 makes me sad. He could have lived a better life without meeting an asshole like Kloff.. even Kloff realizes.
Unlike Kloff Vol 2 who tried using Rapiel as a tool… to feel normal about liking an alpha. Who punishes that alpha because of his disgust… even in vol 2 how he humiliates Aeroc for being this dumb blonde at investments or because Aeroc was talking to other alpha. Kloff needed to take out his frustration… and you see why book 1/s1 is a mess
