German line

It was something about collecting wisdom, for space ect. The sentences where not really making scene in German so even as a nativ I thought there were kinda out of context

So in german he says something about that he needed to abolish knowledge so that faith (in religion or himself) gets a place. I don't know if he ist quoting the book we saw him read/have before or more like him telling himself that he needs to leave behind what he thinks he knows and start to believe in himself (or god) to get out of there. (The german word "Glaube" is mostly used in a religious context, but I would guess that he's more likely talking about faith in himself more than in god) I didn't really understood what happened so this is just a guess.
After the german part he says two words in Latin, so "sapere" meaning to be wise or to have knowledge and aude meaning something like "I want" or "I dare to do sth". Aude is written in the imperative so in a commanding form while sapere is written in the infinitive, which I guess shows that he is commanding himself to dare to risk it while knowledge stands against that doing but he is willing to risk it.
That is what I speculate from how you can translate it, hope it helps and I hope you understand what I'mtryingto explain, english is not my first language :)

So I looked up again what german book Yuta was reading in Chapter 5 and it was called "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" from Emanuel Kant, who is a well knows philosopher the title translates to "Critique of Pure Reason" and the sentence Yuta says in Chapter 16 is a quote from this book which goes like "I had to deny knowledge in order to make room for faith" it's hard to understand in german what he means by that because Kants writing is extremely difficult to fully understand but I'll try to explain what he means as best as I can.
So in the book Kant determines what human reasons can and cannot know through pure thinking, he then goes on to say that we can have knowledge only of things that appear to us in experience showing that we cannot have knowledge of things beyond experience. By "denying knowledge", he sets a limit to what reasons can legitimately be claimed to be known. Because of this limit be "makes room for faith" which here means rational moral faith rather than blind religious faith.
So I think we can see exactly that in Yutas situation because he has no knowledge of what will happen if he takes the phone and makes the call because he's never done that so he has no experience therefore he has to rely on faith.
