Oh this one i had to disagree. As much as i feel your frustration but we can never blame the victim. Yigon is a child of neglect and abuse. He was neglected by his parents, manipulated by his grandfather and brother, and abused by the brother and people around him for 35 years of his life. No one, not even his secretary was on his side. Living a life he hates, partying, changing women, friends with addicts etc just to be on his brother’s good side again took a toll on his mental health. Not to mention the constant murder attempts.
So when the only escape, the one who promised to protect him, the only light to this dark alley dismissed him, belittling and threatening to break the contract, made him take action out of the norm. He is smart but he is not immune to PTSD. When the nly variable (ML) who his brother cannot manipulate didn’t protect him, to whom should he seek when everything he does is being monitored.
no yeah i get that hod mental state must have been especially fragile at that time, it’s more that i don’t understand why everyone is acting like he’s a saint and the ml is a devil… as someone who has plenty of mental illnesses like him, i guess i slowly started to despise him bc of that, like yeah it’s an explanation for how he acts and the things he does, but it doesn’t justify actively hurting people and putting them in danger, especially if it’s based off your (petty, if we’re being honest) annoyance that they didn’t have feelings for you (despite them repeatedly telling you so and you ignoring it)… that being said, i see how it’s a hot take, at the end of the day it’s mostly my personal preference
i can’t lie i’m a little disgusted… or maybe that’s not the right word? i’m disappointed and irritated and also kind of pissed off… first don’t get me started on yigon and his absolute lack of self preservation and also dignity… it was such a hard read watching him confess his feelings and cling on to ml… and as for ml, i’m ngl i sympathize with him, like yeah he’s an asshole with a shit personality but at the end of the day he set boundaries and if we look at it objectively, really only treated mc like he needed to as a decent person, coupled with the fact that mc was obviously dependent on him and mentally ill, he got overwhelmed and decided his company, something he’s been working for, came first. aside from that, i genuinely think mc isn’t exhausting all his options, obviously he’s abused and fragile and cowardly, but that’s not what i’m mad about, i actually think it makes sense, but he says he’s scared of death yet doesn’t really…. how do i say this… use his brain?? like i can stand timid mcs but i don’t like it when they’re kind of stupid? or maybe it’s just all the things weighing down on him, alright, but then actively plotting to ruin someone else’s life because they were using you for their own interest (while you were doing the same thing, mind you) is something i can’t digest… he acts like he’s been wronged by ml, but i genuinely don’t think, objectively, that’s very fair, he WAS acting clingy, he WAS breaking the contract, and ml DID set boundaries he was clear on… aside from that the second hand embarrassment is the main reason… maybe im too used to mentally strong or particularly clever mcs… i cant stand his ass
