Almost every other arc has the MC (always an adult mind, even if he is assigned into a young body) being a very important influence in the growth of his target (who most times starts off as a minor), and eventually they always fall in love, making their relationships borderline if not blatantly grooming.
In this one's case, the target is an adult, so you can say its not grooming. But there's something to be said about his mental faculties and how much he's depending on MC to live and survive, so I personally find it a murky
