Basically Dohyun was an orphan, and Wooyeon’s mother was the one who took him out of the orphanage and put him in a family. They did not care much about him, He just needed to behave as the good son and that’s it, But he got to have normal life. So Wooyeon’s mother decided he owes her to help her if she asked.
So Dohyun teaching him English was arranged, also woo’s mother Told him to be careful because woo starts to like him, and Dohyun also noticed he liked him and that’s why Dohyun ran away.
The most terrible Thing here, along the chapters You’re reading right now, Wooyen’s mother asked Dohyun to take care of Wooyeon. And he is in touch with her. In the next chapter, you’ll see him getting some phone calls, or going outside to make a call so….　
Basically his mom is crazy, And is controlling his life, I won’t tell u more…
so Dohyun can’t just date him without her permission. Obviously, he’s smart and he knows woo has feelings for him, But somewhere along the way, catches feelings for him too.
I think we came to the point where he actually likes him too.. But he really cannot share anything about himself so I think, That’s why he’s going back-and-forth and he is obligated To take care of him

Dohyun always knew who Wooyeon was since the beginning. Due to the circumstances for which their tutor-student relationship began in the past (basically, because Wooyeon’s mom paid Dohyun to tutor him but also to report anything of worth regarding school to her), Dohyun wanted to approach their relationship differently this time. He hasn’t told Wooyeon that he knows who he is because he thinks Wooyeon might have a reason for not saying anything, so all this time, he’s been waiting for him to tell him first. He knows that Wooyeon likes him. And at this point, Dohyun also likes Wooyeon romantically. However, he wants Wooyeon to admit everything first. As you can see in chapter 26, he’s pushing and cornering Wooyeon to admit the truth and his feelings already (for example, when he’s like, “So because of the alcohol you’d let anyone do that (as in the handjob lol)?”). As later revealed in his POV, at this point in the story, he’s desperate for Wooyeon to drop the act and admit everything. Btw, in a couple chapters, Garam will confront Dohyun, demanding the same, “You know that Wooyeon likes you. Why are you leading him on?” And I won’t say more because I think it’s better to see for yourself eventually :)

But be assured that Dohyun has feelings for Wooyeon and has always cared about him, even during their tutoring days. Their circumstances and Dohyun’s own conflicting feelings toward Wooyeon are part of the reason he’s not being as direct. Everything will be explained when we reach Dohyun’s POV chapters. Honestly, this was my favourite part of the novel because everything made sense and you could understand Dohyun’s actions perfectly.

gosh that sounds so horribel!!! i’m a little relieved that dohyun isn’t a red flag but omggg this genuinely sucks for them wtfff. i hope they’ll resolve the mom issue somehow

And will there be a time he realizes this? Cuz he was bullied in his teens and he became stronger as we see. But how will he cope with his mother’s behavior :( and where was his mother when he was bullied, i am mad.

He will absolutely be devastated because it’s not just his mother , but his actual boyfriend is involved and also another person he knows. You can see in the first chapter, She always tries to solve everything with money. She was never straightforward with him, She put Dohyun to take care of him and even another person..
Instead of directly showing she cares about him.
To make things worse he looks like her dead wife he never knew he had another mother. so he reminds her of her. She wasn’t supposed to raise him definitely not by herself.
Also using Dohyun knowing Wooyeon had feelings for him is so unfair, for both sides. This woman is crazyyyyyy and shit is about to go down
