I don’t know why they made the meeting between Doyoon’s mother and him something special and heartwarming, but I still hated her. If she’s a victim of circumstances, so does Doyoon, more than anyone else! For you to leave a 10 year old child with a grown man who resort to violence every damn time means you’re a different breed of evil too.
Exactly, he could have been dead even sooner by his own father's hands and she would know shit about it living her best life, talk about selfishness, both their parents were on different levels of neglectant yet both weren't "just" toxic, they action could and did lead to something more sinister, absolutely despicable people and I'm just surprised author thinks such a people have right to be forgiven just because they gave you birth
I’m taking the forgiveness of Doyoon to his mother woth a grain of salt. The author established that whatever difficulty they suffered the time he and his mother were together is not his fault. I just think that the forgiveness is part of how Doyoon Kim is—kind. He’s so kind to the point that he doesn’t believe himself to be kind enough, the paradox of being kind. And him not forgiving his mother is out of character, since he feels guilty of ruining her hand despite knowing that it wasn’t his fault.
Thankfully, Doyoon Kim grew up with courage to be kind despite the circumstances.

This story have such a disgusting parents, all of them
