So after they both tell each other they like each other Minjae isn't satisfied with the depth of Heechan's feelings; its the typical "i want all of him forever" trope. Except it gets literally psychotic because he starts orchestrating these little events around him that if he doesn't have Heechan there, he'll die. And Heechan is extremely gullible and dumb and believes their fates are tied now and that if he leaves his side for too long something dangerous will keep happening (mind you Minjae is using his money to bribe people, use his employees and use the people around Heechan to make sure he can keep tabs and also convince Heechan it's real or at least the gravity of it is that real). I'm so tired of the obsessive seme trope coming in last minute on a relatively very safe and healthy relationship in a Manhwa. It's happened to me so many times, I'm done This isn't most yaoi reader's deal breakers, and they normally aren't mine either as long as as the seme is that way from the start so that I know its a toxic romance to begin with. But it's the ones that switch up after they get together that piss me off.

At this point I think it truly is a female author calling card because it’s not exclusive to manhwa and manga but fanficfion and romance narratives written by women for women. I am a queer man and even though male written work is highly problematic, there isn’t a need to disguise themselves as anything but what they are. I don’t know why this isn’t the case with female authors who write and draw “erotica” but feel the need to romanticize problematic elements despite very much enjoying and indulging just as problematic elements as their male contemporaries. Just be forthright.

I read and finished the novel as well and I don’t think you’re 100% right with the details. You might have gotten confused to the ML’s intent. There WAS a family member that was trying to kill ML, ML just let it happen and handled his family member off screen. ML didn’t orchestrate majority of the events. The reason he let it happens was because he knew MC was the type to not believe in fate and thought they’d eventually break up one day. So ML went along with the dangerous events and persuaded MC to believe that he was his lucky charm. Things like getting lucky and scoring on deals or passing on doomed investments, due to MC. MC started to believe that whenever he cancelled plans with ML, ML would get into an unlucky situation and end up hurt (but ML was actually getting plotted on by his family member and attacked at these instances). ML just used this opportunity to convince MC that they are fated to stick together, and MC was satisfied with sticking by ML. He did plot things to his advantage but not the danger part.

Though it is true that ML isn’t a pure green flag. And he does the typical “rich guy does surveillance on his love.” Like an instance where someone at the market tells mc he should get security cameras for his store and that it’s for free, turns out ML told the person to say that. Though MC did immediately agree to put the security cams up as soon as he heard it was free. ML would have access and watch those cameras at times (the security cams are within the store only). It’s also not like this is out of the blue. The background of ML has always been a mystery and is also a mystery to the end. He has power and money, and has always resolved everything with it behind the scenes. That shouldn’t have been a surprise.

No for sure they definitely do I am not disputing that, I have just notice that when female authors do it it’s never seen as a problematic as it should I mean look at the most egregious example of the Colleen Hover film with Blake Lively “it ends with us” it’s a dark fan fiction that became a novel then movie and it heavily romanticizes abusive relationships.

I read another person's comments about how rhe threads on Minjae's like are actually real, but he uses it to convince/trick Heechan into being with him 24/7. Yikes. Monopolizing someone's time is still bad.

Thanks for the spoilers... like genuinely what is the point of all this? Is the average reader also so insecure in their relationship that they feel comforted by this sort of plot point and love crazy jealousy? What even is the point of the plot of the first half of the story? This feels like two separate stories mashed together. I suppose this is how it's meant to be for any mass appeal BL - no matter what the original premise is it has to eventually fit the mold of typical tropes #richtop #possessivetop #naivebottom
