Yeah he's definitely not a green flag. "He's waiting for consent" nah he's manipulating for consent, which isn't the enthusiastic-informed-consent that is the standard measurement for what counts as proper consent. I like the manipulation of omegaverse & billionaire stories in fiction but it's not a green flag and you should avoid it in real life.
And apparently there's no way to fix him being an Omega, but there is a way for him to learn to control it.... Yet he never tries to get him to learn how to control it??

It's like Reboo said, there's a way to stop the problem he doesn't know, and the alpha definitely isn't training him how to do it. Don't get me wrong I like the story, but he is taking advantage.
Im guessing the problem youre talking about is that mc doesnt know how to control his pheromones, and yeh I agree he’s manipulating the situation to his advantage. But I was referencing the heat situation, even if he was taught how to control it, alphas and omegas cant control their pheromones during heat/rut. Thats why I said at least he waited for consent and not lose control and blame it on pheromones like other shitty alphas. On the other hand, at least the mc knows what the ml is doing and is aware the ml is manipulating the situation so that he’d be the only one mc would have sex with.
I was wondering why he couldn’t just sedate mc with smth to make him sleep through it. Also I feel like your food comparison doesn’t make sense. Ml isn’t a dog (even dogs would be better behaved lowkey), he can control himself. He can choose to leave his house, either to find more “food” or to not smell the food.
And I might be misremembering, but isn’t that the excuse ppl make for rapists? That they couldn’t control themselves around their victim?
Also I’m like 99% sure that “sex” when one person isn’t in their right mind is just rape bc they aren’t able to consent (like when you’re drunk). But yeah.
Yeah, I was talking about how he isn't teaching him how to control his pheromones so he can have a real option in leaving the house safely. There's also how he could teach him how to generally live his life with this condition, but he's kinda not doing either. He's just sort of babying him and keeping him in the house, even though he wants to get back to living his life.
The idea now is he hasn't prepped him for a life with these changes and is keeping him in proximity to himself. He says the only way to stop a heat is to have sex with an alpha, therefore keeping him in his house where there's no other alpha sets up an eventual situation where the MC will inevitably be forced to go to him for relief.
Being drunk/drugged is definitely a more apt comparison. If someone was drugged with an aphrodisiac and wasn't of right mind, them consenting to sex while intoxicated because they are desperate is still considered rape. MC is basically on a biological aphrodisiac drug and all ML has to do is wait for it to kick in and be the only person around to help him.
Also, I think what's important is that we can still enjoy reading the story while also understanding that this would still be considered rape and that the situation is being handled poorly. I think part of this that is interesting is that the ML isn't human and also knows MC is his mate, so there's an inhuman quality to his actions as well.

Even if the mc was asleep, there would still be pheromones. And to copy Reboo’s example, aphrodisiac, an omega in heat is like being drugged with aphrodisiac as well as spreading that aphrodisiac too through pheromones. Im not sure with alpha in rut, all ive seen from alphas in rut is either they force themselves on the omega, or the omega helps them to relieve the pain, or they oppress everybody in the room due to their heavy pheromones. And thats right, ml isnt a dog, he’s some weird tentacle creature from a species that can somehow mark a human and change their body… Quite disagree with your dogs being more behaved comment… And I never said it wasn’t r*pe, I was simply explaining why he couldnt not have sex with him. Simple answer to why he couldn’t just leave the house is he has ulterior motives, which is to have sex with the mc, make him his, etc.
The positive side though, is that mc is aware. He is fully aware of what ml is doing, and he even confronted(?) more like lashed out ig but he does know and I hope he’ll force ml, if ml isnt willing to teach him how to control his pheromones, to teach him the ropes.
Yep, he’s a weird creature with a supposedly higher intelligence, but for some reason still can’t resist raping his “mate”. And my dogs are actually better behaved than him. They know to not climb onto the dinner table and eat everything, which is more than I can say for ml. Also, in your older comment that i replied to you stated that the ml did wait for consent, so I was correcting you that although there was consent it wasn’t valid bc the mc was high. Also, in that comment you were saying that the ml not being able to have sex with mc was like being starved for 3 days, which I thought was dumb bc the ml can just choose to stop “starving” himself (by leaving the house, teaching mc, etc.) Your comment didn’t mention anything of the ml’s motives, so it sounded to me like you were excusing the ml of his actions bc he just couldn’t control himself to not rape the mc. Also Cat was the one who originally brought up that there isn't consent when someone is intoxicated, like when they are drunk. I just elaborated Cat's point by including how you can't actually consent when you are drugged or drunk and used aphrodisiacs as the closest example of what's happening in the story.
By being starved, i meant thats how the pheromones secreted by an omega in heat would feel if you were to smell it and be affected by it. And also, for the dog part, I also wasnt talking about food but them mating in general. But yeh hope mc wont get trapped in ml’s manipulation.
What a strategy. Wait it out until your target goes into heat and prevent any competing alpha from being competition. Then you can tell your omega that you were technically waiting for consent. It's a little harsh how he keeps talking about sex to not only a rape victim but a multi month rape victim though.
