I don’t get it, did I miss a chapter while reading?? Why did he get the surgery to remove their bond if he was just going to go right back to him?? How would that have helped their son?? And there was really no redemption arc or yearning or chasing??? Now that he’s leaving the company, how will they cure their son’s illness???

MC was upset with ML "ignoring him" when in fact ML was being somewhat detained and going through hellish experiments for the new meds. His father convinced MC to have the surgery done claiming ML doesn't care for him and wants to experiment on the kid but that wasn't true. Once MC figured out what ML was going through for the sake of their son and why he chose to stay away all this time he decided to save him and get back together. They basically made up while acting like they were under the effect of drugs for the drs.
ML wasn't really at fault for there to be a chansing arc, he was misunderstood. The whole series feels like a redemption arc after meeting again anyway.
And the company will now have legal issues because of the drugs scandal on tv. So we'll figure out how they will handle the rest from now on (I assume ML will start his own company with the new drug he worked on but we'll see).

Thanks for this! I guess I just missed the part where he figured out the that ML was actually helping their son, not trying to experiment on him.
