It happens a lot in real life yk… they seek people that they consider more mature and stable than them (so older) and the cause is often related to the child’s household situation and/or parent’s relationship. They’ll often confuse their admiration as romance.

Now the true problem would be if the adult reciprocated the supposed romantic feeling, that deserves capital punishment.
