Arista is cool. She just likes swords and Lucas. She figured that her two friends liked each other and didn’t think much of it. She didn’t know the ML liked her until he said it outloud and then she felt bad for the FL.
Felt bad but did nothing basically. She is cool ig but she couldnt push away or have boundaries against ML when she knew FL like him? Its just me but a good friend would have pushed ML to FL more. Idk
Felt bad and told the FL about the ML’s feelings and to talk to him even after he begged her not to. What more should she do after finding out? Idk when they were in school no one knew the FL actually liked the ML until that botched confession because FL kept it a secret because the ML asked her to. And imo Arista only saw the ML as a friend who respected her love for swords and understood her, not realizing that he “liked” her. I doubt there were any boundaries to cross since they all generally hung out together. And Arista and ML were in the same swordsmanship program. So they trained together.
If I had two friends, one who liked the other and the other clearly rejected them and they both looked like they just wanted to stay friends. I’d be keeping my mouth shut about bringing up those wounds.
I understand more now. Tho im frustrated with all of them but now i realize its not anyones fault in particular. Like its authors theme of the story to have lots of missed opportunities and misunderstandings
