I think he sees marriage as a duty. He already admitted that he cares about MC more than he should. But oh well, we'll see what happens. In his previous life, it seems MC decided to do the right thing and hurt ML.

Is the story gonna follow 'almost lost their li before they realise they're in love with them' trope? Right now it looks like the seme is trying to have the best of both worlds wo caring for the other involved party's feeling.
